Doug Swardstrom spent the first chapter of his career earning trust at the highest levels, and then decided that trust was better spent on impacting the community around him than the corporate sector.

After earning his undergraduate degree in business and economics and an MBA from the University of Southern California, Doug built a career in financial services, collecting national performance awards as he went. As his client base shifted toward high-net-worth individuals, he joined an asset management firm and rose quickly to CEO, ultimately overseeing more than $1 billion in real estate equity holdings.

It was there, managing that scale of wealth and responsibility, that Doug found his real calling: real estate itself. Not the spreadsheets behind it, but the homes, the people, the families, and decisions that shape a life. Launching the Swardstrom Group with his wife Rachel was the natural next step. It was a chance to take the financial acumen and understanding of what wealthy individuals expect, and put it directly to work for people buying and selling the place they'll actually live and building an investment portfolio.

Doug and Rachel have built the Swardstrom Group into one of the most recognized teams at Coldwell Banker Realty's Newport Beach office, earning the International President's Premier award (2015, top 1% globally) and the Society of Excellence award (2021, awarded to fewer than 1% of agents worldwide), along with a #3 ranking among small teams by sales volume nationwide. As a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury property specialist, Doug brings sophisticated, global-reach marketing to every listing — but he'd tell you the real work still happens in kitchen-table conversations.

Married to Rachel for over 29 years and father to three children, Doug measures success less by the deal size and more by whether a family felt genuinely taken care of. That's the standard the whole business is built on.
