Doug Swardstrom | Principal

Background

Raised in Palos Verdes, CA, Doug has spent most of his life in Southern California. He has been a resident of Orange County for 20 years. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Economics, Doug pursued a successful career in financial services, including sales and licenses for securities, real estate financing, and qualified plans. Within two years, he became a leading regional sales trainer and earned national performance awards. As his business became more focused on high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts in Southern California, he accepted a management position at a Southern California asset management firm. He earned his MBA while working full-time. Working with some of the wealthiest individuals, trusts, and investors in California, he became the General Manager which included the responsibility of oversight for over $1 billion in real estate holdings and transactions, securities, and management projects around the country. His passion for real estate, understanding of finance, experience with executives and other CEOs, and intimate understanding of the lifestyles and expectations related to high-net-worth individuals, proved to be a perfect fit as he and his wife, Rachel, launched the Swardstrom Group, in partnership with Coldwell Banker. In 2015, Rachel and Doug received the International President’s Premier award, moving them into the top 1% of all Coldwell Bankers.

Personal

Living a purpose-driven life with integrity and serving others – in business and in one’s personal life – is at the core of their personal, and family’s, way of approaching life. As author C.S. Lewis wrote: “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Rachel and Doug have been married for 19 years and are the proud parents of three wonderful children.
Doug enjoys serving his community through various organizations and projects and enjoys sports the outdoors whenever he has the opportunity.

Both Rachel and Doug proudly support the Orange County Rescue Mission, Olive Crest, Young Life, ChildHelp, and other worthy community organizations. They are active with Mariner’s Church. Doug is a Board Member for the Harbor Area Boys & Girls Club – serving Newport Beach, Irvine, and Costa Mesa families. He is also the Chairman of Board Development Committee Board Member, Irvine Youth Basketball League – National Junior Basketball Commissioner for Irvine All-Net (All-Stars) Division School Site Council Member, Alderwood Elementary School (public) Active Member, the PTA Co-Founder & former President, Quail Hill Swim Team Former Club-Level Basketball Coach, AAU & All-Net Tournament level Former Board Member, Irvine Swim League Member, Surfrider Foundation Member, and part of the National Eagle Scout Association.
