For Doug, real estate brings together many of the disciplines he has valued throughout his career—the analytical rigor of finance, the strategy of negotiation, the creativity of marketing, and, most importantly, the opportunity to serve people during meaningful moments in their lives.

Service has long been important to him beyond business as well. Doug played a role in the early development of and remains a longtime supporter of the Orange County Rescue Mission, has served on the Orange County Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs, supported Olive Crest, ChildHelp, and the

SurfRider Foundation, and enjoys working through the outreach programs of Mariners Church. A longtime member of the National Eagle Scout Association, he continues to value service, responsibility, preparedness, and character. Doug also enjoys reading, with C.S. Lewis among his favorite authors. One line often attributed to Lewis especially resonates with him: “True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less”—a perspective that reflects Doug’s belief that meaningful leadership and service begin with focusing on others.

Together, Doug and Rachel Swardstrom and their small team have closed more than $1 billion in residential real estate sales and earned some of Coldwell Banker Realty’s highest distinctions, including the International President’s Premier Award and the prestigious Society of Excellence, awarded to fewer than 1% of Coldwell Banker-affiliated agents worldwide, the #1 Small Team in Orange County, and among the company’s top-producing teams internationally.

Outside of real estate, Doug enjoys boating, sailing, fly fishing, golf, skiing, and yoga, along with simpler moments spent with Rachel and their family and walking the beaches of Corona del Mar, Crystal Cove, and Laguna Beach.

Married to Rachel for more than 29 years and the father of three, Doug brings a personal perspective to a business often defined by numbers.
